Jonathan Johns founded Macaw Plumbing & Tankless in June 2025 with a simple mission: make quality plumbing affordable and accessible for families across Concord, China Grove, and surrounding communities. The company's name reflects what matters most to him—it's an acronym of his five children's names: Milliana, Alonna, Cynthia, Ashton, and Weston. Family remains at the heart of everything Jonathan does.

Before plumbing, Jonathan was on track to become a firefighter. But when he and his wife Sierra started their family, he made a different choice—one that would let Sierra stay home with their children while he built a stable, rewarding career. That decision led him to the plumbing trades, where he's spent the last six years honing his skills and earning his North Carolina P1 Unlimited Plumbing License and Well Seal Certification. He's also a certified Navien Service Specialist, bringing expert-level knowledge to tankless water heater installations and service.

Jonathan spent years working alongside nearly 100 technicians at a large plumbing firm, learning the ropes on the service side and seeing firsthand what homeowners really need—and what they don't. That experience taught him the value of honest assessments and straightforward recommendations. Today, he brings that same integrity to every job, guiding families toward repairs that make sense without the pressure to upsell.

Beyond his technical expertise, Jonathan is deeply committed to serving his community. Through the "Serving Hands" program, Macaw Plumbing provides free necessary plumbing repairs one Friday each month for neighbors in need—veterans, teachers, single parents, and others who might otherwise go without. It's a reflection of the values that guide his work every day: Responsibility, Integrity, Discipline, Excellence, and Service.

With 12 years of service to the local area—including time as a mechanic in Concord before transitioning to plumbing—Jonathan knows what it means to show up, do the job right, and treat every home like it's his own.
